October | Pretty My Page

I've been meaning to post these for months now but I get so behind on my blog because I'm always posting stuff on to Facebook and Instagram. Below are all my projects for Pretty My Page using their fab cut files.

Be Inspired... | GoGo Getaway Nov 2017

I'm up today on the GoGo Getaway blog today with my Be Inspired.. challenge from the recent GoGo Getaway in Haydock. Head over to the blog to see what I challenged all the delegates to do.

Here are a couple of layouts I created for some of the other Design Team Girls' challenges.

I'm not usually one for double layouts but I really enjoyed creating these.

Pink & Paper | Oh Happy moments

Happy Monday, sadly I too am back at work today after being off yesterday. However the weather here in the UK has taken a turn for winter and it was only 3 degrees this morning!

Pink & Paper Shop have just launched a new monthly challenge. This month it was a sketch challenge and I couldn't wait to join in. I loved the idea of having different 6x6 squares to create the background. I have so many 6x6 pads to use up so this was perfect.

My Sri Lanka is on the final stretch to almost being finished so at the moment I am trying to be selective about the layouts I create for this album so I can add the stories that haven't been told yet. This is the first meal we had and was definitely one of the best!

I'm super excited to be heading to Liverpool this weekend to teach at my second GoGo Getaway Scrapbooking retreat. Need to get organised and pack my crop tote.

~ Home Decor | One Canoe Two Globe ~

Happy Monday! A quick and simple post from me today. When I saw these globes from One Canoe Two earlier in the year I knew I desperately needed to get the one with the world map on it to use as décor for the sideboard in our lounge.

I used the pin head sticker embellishments to add on to the map each place that we have visited around the world both individually and together. Then wrapped bunting around the globe trying not to cover up any of the pins.

We both love to travel and see the world, for me its experiencing the different cultures and food. I find it fascinating to see how people in other countries live. Plus I'm obsessed with food and find it great to see/try new foods. Next we are off to Lithuania for a quick 5 night city break and we have just booked our first 2018 trip. I'm super excited to go to Egypt and Jordan in January!

This globe is a great way for me to visually document our travels and I love how it looks in the lounge. Have you created with a One Canoe Two globe? I would love to see your globes!

~ Inspired by Sam Ball | Charmed ~

Happy Sunday! I've set up at the Café Nero to do some blogging whilst I wait for the boy to run the Sheffield 10k. There are lovely views for the peace gardens from the upstairs of this café and its so peaceful there on a Sunday morning.

I had some left over stash from Sam's Class at the Birds of a Feather retreat earlier in the year so I used it along with some inspiration from her designs to create this page. Adding a few extra bits from my stash.

I love this photo of the monkeys just hanging around at Lion's Rock in Sri Lanka. They were everywhere but I loved how the mist in the background gave the monkeys in the foreground a great contrast. My Sri Lanka album is coming along nicely now. Hopefully will get it fully completed before the end of the year.

~ Hello 2017 ~

Wow, where is 2017 going!!! Seems like only yesterday that we were celebrating New Year. 2017 was destined to be an awesome year as I have a big birthday and we have lots of travel plans. However, I've found out I need more surgery so everything feels a bit up in limbo now.

But that doesn't stop me scrapping so here is my 2017 title page using 'Hazelwood' from 1Canoe2 with American Crafts.

There are lots of exciting scrapbooking related things happening though. I'm looking forward to teaching at GoGo Getaway Scrapbooking Retreats and trying to post more on my blog and Instagram.

~ Photo Love ~

This layout was featured on the Like For Ever Blog in August for Throwback Thursday and I completely forgot to put it up on my blog. I took this photo of my Dad whilst doing Ali Edward's Week in the Life. He always has his camera on his belt, ready to take that perfect snap.

I used some older Shimelle 'True Stories' collection papers for my layout. I absolutely loved all these papers. This was one of my first kits from Like For Ever and it was full of the most gorgeous stash!

Using Stazon black ink I stamped one of Ali Edward's beautiful script words to use as part of my title.

I cut out some of the patterned paper to use as embellishments on the page. As some of you may be aware, I do love a bit of fussy cutting although these weren't particularly difficult.

Life has been a little crazy recently. Lots of exciting things are happening including lots of trip planning for a milestone birthday next year!

~ Lets Eat Cake! ~

Well the last few days of nights have been very tiring! Although I'm now looking forward to the 5 days off. I'm intending on getting plenty of scrapping done.

I've had this photo for ages. It shows the lemon and poppy seed courgette cake that I have made a few times. It is a favourite at work although it's outcome varies depending on the water content of the courgettes.

When I saw the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy Collection I knew this would be perfect for using with my baking photos. I love the paste colours mixed in with the bright red. I love making little flags to layer up under patterned paper mats. I wasn't sure I would use the self inking stamp from the collection but have now used it a couple of times just to add a little detail.

~ Post night update ~

This week seems to have flown by but it always does when I'm on nights as I literally just have time to sleep and go to work. I'm looking forward to a good couple of weeks off especially as I'm bridesmaid for my friend next week.

This layout was treated using American Crafts Shimelle 'True Stories' paper and embellishments. I stuck with the triangle theory for focal points on this layout and the diagonal lines directing the eye to the photo as main focus.

I'm not keen on this photo but it was great for documenting the effect the humidity had on my hair. I can't believe I was actually that blonde! It was awfully frizzy!

I'm hoping to get some more crafting done this weekend. We are praying for good weather this weekend as we are BBQing.

~ Let's eat cake! ~

Good morning, as you read this I should be sweating my ass off at a body combat class. I have really enjoyed going to the gym recently, just a shame work sometimes gets in the way. I certainly would love to be a kept woman.

So whilst I was tidying my craft room I came across some photos from a couple of years ago that I didn't get round to scrapping. These photos are of my friend when we went to a cupcake decorating class. We had such a great time.

I really wasn't sure if I would use the candle patterned paper from the 'Fine & Dandy' collection. I expected that I would end up using the B side pattern as it is a little OTT for my liking. However, it fitted in perfectly with these photos and I think it worked well with the 3 6x4 photos on the layout.

I hope you are all have fab plans for the weekend. We are off to the rugby at Headingley on Sunday afternoon but I'm hoping to find some crafty time.

~ Fine & Dandy ~

Good morning, I'm hoping for a nice crafty afternoon if I can manage to get my essay written. So there should be more posts from me over the next few weeks.

I have again dipped in to the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy collection for the majority of this layout. I used the self inking stamp to add abit of texture to 2 corners of the photo matt. I love these flair badges which I have picked up from Hey Little Magpie.

I cut up the fine & dandy die cut to layer it under the photo. I added an acetate bow on top of the die cut bow and secured it with a co-ordinating brad from my stash. I really like how this adds depth and altered textures.

I absolutely love this photo of my fiancé with his niece. It was a spur of the moment iPhone photo that I took after a family meal out and then enhanced in Instagram. I've waited ages for the right papers and this suits it brilliantly.

Happy crafting!

~ Family Time ~

When I first received my July Like for Ever Kit I wasn't sure it was my kind of style but once I started to use them I really love them. The washi tape booklet is amazing. I love washi tape but sometimes find a whole roll too much.

The American Crafts Dear Lizzy Fine & Dandy collection is full of pinks, red, blues and greens. I started creating this layout from a scrappy Sunday challenge sketch over on the kit subscribers Facebook group but then came back to it after and completed it without going back to the sketch.

This is an unusual family photo as it isn't too often that I see my cousins in Peterborough. We went as a family to visit Kirby Hall. I didn't think I would use the dog diecut but it works perfectly with this layout.

I'll be back on Thursday to share another layout.

~ Scrappy Sunday ~

Good afternoon, over in the Like For Ever Kit subscribers facebook page we have an alternate week scrappy sunday challenge. The last one was to use one of the sketchs provided to create a layout. So here is my version using American Crafts Shimelle 'True Stories' Collection. This was agreat way to use up any scraps of paper I had left.

The photos used are from my trip to India in August 2013. We got up early to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise. It was a beautiful sight and we were able to have photos taken on Diana's Bench. I love how I have been able to incorporate small photos but it doesnt take away the focus from the main picture.

I really love this collection of papers even though I probably wouldn't have bought it myself. It is adaptable for so many different themes. I hope you are enjoying your weekend, I intend to get in my craft room this afternoon.

~ It's oh so simples ... ~

Well this week seems to be flying by at a rapid speed. I had intended sharing this layout with you yesterday but with work, and unexpected visitor and a guiding meeting I just didn't get chance.

The title is taken from the well known TV advert for compare the market.com involving meerkats. When I took this photo I knew immediately what the title would be.  These meerkats at Bristol Zoo were so funny, just running round, playing and having fun.

The papers are from My Mind's Eye called 'On the Brightside'. I love the vibrant colours. The bunting is made from the collection's die cut sheet. American Crafts Amy Tangerine washi tape just adds to the chevron pattern used throughout.

Hoping I might get some more crafting done tonight but it depends whether Holby City and my PJs win the battle after a busy early shift at work.

~ A little gem! ~

I absolutely love this stamp from Pink Gem Designs (I have already bought the winter version ready for christmas!). I have used the skecth over on their challenge blog - hop over to see. As I'm in the process of trying to use some of my stash up, the papers were from a Cleo crafts kit, the collection is American Crafts 'Letterbox'. Although there is still plenty of the kit left. I absolutley love petaloo flowers but they are another stash item that I am trying to use up (I have rather alot of flowers, oops!).

I love the girly feel to this card I think its really summery and bright - shame the weather isn't at the moment!

A quick question for all you, non-yorkshire people - do you know what Henderson's Relish is? I have come across a few local people who haven't a clue what it is but then a couple of Americans who do. Very odd!
Henderson's Relish is similar to Worcestershire Sauce but made in Sheffield.

Well I hope you all have an enjoyable evening, I'm off to my cousin's engagement BBQ/party shortly, have got both fingers and toes crossed that the weather holds!

~ More savoury than sweet ~

Here are a couple of glimpses of a CJ entry I have just completed. I hope the recipient likes it. I have used American Crafts 'Letterbox' papers and thickers for the title.

Well its a glorious day here as predicted but unfortunately I have loads of errands to run this morning. Including posting this fabulous CJ to the next on the list.

Have a lovely day!

~ CC Mystery Kit ~

While looking through photos on my computer I realised that I had never blogged my creation using the mystery kit from the Monopoly CC. So here goes:
This mini book details mine and my boyfriends plans and buys for moving in to our own home in the near future. It all started when we went to Bakewell shopping and spotted these gorgeous Luminarc Red Drip Glasses.
Since then we have both been hooked on buying housey things! We even made up a list!
The kit was from Sarah's Cards Ltd and I must say that I absolutely loved it! The colours were so bright and vibrant!
Since then I have been asking for household items from family for christmas and birthday gifts. My Auntie bought me a lovely hob steamer.

We have bought quite a few items from ebay including a Royal Doulton Kettle and Toaster.

I even had items of thali dishes (indian crockey) posted from Pune in November when I was away on holiday. It weighed a ton! Not cheap to post either!

When all is said and done what I really need is one of these! A big money tree!
