~ National Scrapbooking Day | Pocket Pages ~

Whilst I had a scrappy marathon for National Scrapbooking Day I completed a couple of pocket pages for my Sri Lanka album.

I find pocket pages take me ages to do as I think I see each card as a mini layout and spend ages trying to decide what to put on the photos/cards. I really need to get quicker at them as I love the effect but get put off from doing them. These pages were made with a selection of older collections from my stash.

It's a great way to put multiple photos from my travels in my album when I want to document them but they don't each warrant their own 12x12 page. Do you create pocket pages? If so is it a quick process for you?

~ UK Scrap Addicts Multiple Photo Layout ~

Hi there, today I'm up on the UK Scrap Addicts blog with my first individual post featuring multiple photo layouts.

I quite often scrap more than one photo but this time I decided to try a double spread using pocket pages. Head over to the UK Scrap Addicts blog to see the full spread.

Show me how you use multiple photos on your layouts.

~ {Inter}National Scrapbook Day Round Up! ~

Happy Monday!

Well I hope you all had a fun filled {Inter}National Scrapbooking Day, I certainly did. I managed to get 6 layouts completed using the online challenges over at Like For Ever & For the Love of Pretty Paper (UK scrapbooking Facebook Group).

The first challenge over on Like For Ever was to scrap lift yourself. I chose a layout from my India 2015 album and scrapped photos to go in my Vietnam & Cambodia 2012 album. I'm impressed at how different they look.

I used papers from the January Like For Ever Kit 'Twenty Sixteen' along with embellishments from my stash. Love that I'm starting to use some of my papers up.

If you've seen any photos from my recent trip to Latvia over on my Instagram account you will note that I do like a good cocktail. That certainly hasn't changed since these photos were taken.

The next challenge I attempted was this lovely sketch created by Laura from Beads, Buttons & Birds Blog. I had a great time looking back to my birthday in March for this one.

I used the current Like For Ever Kit 'Live out Loud'. Before I received this kit I wasn't excited by the Pink Paislee Paige Evans 'Fancy Free' Collection. But in real life it is super gorgeous!!! I am a total convert, just wish I had more of it!

I wouldn't usually use a mix of colour and black & white photos on a layout but I didn't have the colour version of the pic I wanted to use. I'm actually really pleased with the result. I'm hoarding the pretty 'Fancy Free' papers so this was ideal for only using the branding strips.

Ironically, when looking at last years album I noted that we had Pizza on my birthday last year too!

This next challenge used both the Mood Board over at Like For Ever & a scrap lift challenge from the Facebook group.

Below is Beth Moloney's layout which we were challenged to scrap lift.

This was the very pretty looking mood board by Elsie over o Like For Ever. As soon as I saw this my brain was shouting COCOA VANILLA STUDIO 'FREE SPIRIT'.

So I obliged and created a very pretty, girly page about me and my friend's love of hot chocolate and cake!

The next layout I did was for the 'Coffee' Challenge over on the facebook group. The challenge was to use coffee as inspiration, whether it be colour or content.

I had this photo of the cute spring Starbucks takeaway coffee cup that I had been waiting to scrapbook and then I remembered some Stampin' Up stamps which would fit in perfectly too! The new textures set even has a coffee ring stamp which I used on the background.

Nicola over at Like For Ever gave us access to this 'Just Smile' cut file and asked us to use it as inspiration. I have again used the lovely May 'Live out Loud' Kit and there will be a process video for this layout in the next week.

I was clearly enjoying outlining my layouts this weekend as I've done it to quite a few!

My final layout was for the Like For Ever challenge to scrap a selfie & use a song on the page.

I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut out this background (which I love!) and added selfies from different times over the last few months. They all show me looking happy and enjoying my life. So I used some lyrics from Avril Lavigne's song Innocence as my title. The Little Things that make Life Great.

Thanks for stopping by today and having a read. Over the next week I'm hoping to be able to blog my 'Week in the Life' as I join in with Ale Edwards documenting class.

Happy Crafting!

~ 9x12 Love @ GoGogetaway ~

Welcome back! Today I am sharing a few more of the layouts I created for the 'Be Inspired' Challenges at GoGoGetaway last weekend. These layouts are all 9x12 to fit in to my Thailand and Laos album.

This one was created using one of the colour schemes although I omitted the purple which was also included. This is the absolutely gorgeous 'Hello Sunshine' collection by Cocoa Vanilla Studio which I managed to pick up at the Like For Ever Retreat.

It's beautiful bright colours work perfectly for your summer trips or holidays. I love the beautiful aqua colour in this collection and the bike in the wood veneer collection worked perfectly (to be honest I bought them specifically for the bike!).

Next was a 12x12 sketch which I adapted to use on a 9x12 page. I did this layout in the early hours of Sunday morning and must admit it isn't my favourite. Although the more I look at it the more it grows on me.

The last of my challenges is a 9x12 pocket page. The album I bought had a few different types of pocket pages in it so I am determined to add them in to my album. Also after my class last week at the Like For Ever retreat that Jackie taught I really like how they look mixed in to an album.

So this layout documents our Thai cooking class which we did in Chiang Mai. My fiancé isn't very good at cooking but he really enjoyed this. I have used the 'Free Spirit' Cocoa Vanilla Studio Collection to create the small cards to fit the pages plus some extra bits from my stash.

I really like the way this turned out. Just need to do the reverse side of it now.

Thanks for reading!
Pop back at the weekend to see the 'off the page' project from GoGoGetaway.

~ The Big Hoot ~

Happy Monday!
(I can say this as I'm not working today)

This layout using last month's Like For Ever Kit. The new one should be winging its way to me as you read this. Can't wait to get it as its full of Pink Paislee Cedar Lane goodies. Back to this page. I used a sketch from page maps which Nicola kindly included with the kit this month. It was perfect as I needed to incorporate quite a few photos. I'm really pleased with the end result.

The layout shows 6 of the 56 owls my friends and I saw when we spent the day walking round Birmingham. The Owls were decorated by artists and sponsored by companies in order to raise money for the city's children's hospital. We had great fun following the trail and walking miles, finished off with a lovely meal at Jamie's Italian.

~ India Part 1 ~

Hi all, so this January we headed off to Southern India for a spot of adventure. We travelled with G Adventures around the states of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Obviously as a scrapbooker I took way too many photos but I'm trying to scrap the important/meaningful ones.

This layout uses a photo of my fiance at a lovely little Art Gallery/Cafe in Kochi but the theme behind the layout is more his love of travel. He gets itchy feet as soon as he's back home. I bought some papers and embellishements from the 'Hello World' collection which I absolutely love.

This layout was from another sketch at GogoGetaway and it encompassed 4 photos which really suited the story I wanted to portray. The photos show how tea is made from the plantation, picking the leaves, the factory and the drinking it.

My week off is going far too quickly for my liking, I wish time would slow down a little. I'm not really being very productive but its nice to rest and catch up on some TV. I've loved watching 'Safe House' on ITV. Pop back ove the next few days for more layouts.

~ Gogogetaway pre-weekend challenges ~

Well I've been quite busy getting organised for my second Gogogetaway this last week. This has included getting the photos for 7 classes selected and printed out as well as taking part in the pre-weekend challenges.

The first challenge was to make a name badge using their specified template. As it is their 8th Getaway the template was an octagon. Above is my name badge, using up some of my scraps of patterned paper. I think it is Kaisercraft Marrakech collection.

This is challenge no.2 which consisted of a sketch and the use of 8 photos, 8 lines of journalling and 8 embellishments. I used my February Scrapagogo kit to create the above layout. The photos are from an 8 course meal I had when away in Bristol for the weekend. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to scrap them.

I'm looking forward to their next challenge.

~ My final DT layout! ~

Well todays a sad day for me as this is my final piece of DT work for Sketches:Creatively Yours. The las 7 months have been fantastic and I have loved every minute of being a member of such a fab team.

I would like to thank all those who have taken the time to make the challenge blog what it is. You have given me some great inspiration.

This layout has again been made using Echo Park 'Walk in the park' papers. I had a photo collage made by an online photo company and I'm really pleased with the effect it has created.

Fusion was such a fantastic event for girlguiding UK, thousands of girls visited Harewood House in Leeds for a spectacular of street performers, live music shows and a circus. I think they all had a fab time.

Well I'm having a relaxing night tonight, might even play with my new stamps from Little Claire Designs. I have subscribed for 6 months to their stamp club and I must say I am very impressed.
