Love You | GoGo Getaway February Challenge

Today Sarah sets this months challenge over on the GoGo Getaway Blog. I was fortunate enough to find time to join in with her challenge.

Head over to the blog to check out the challenge, the DT examples and find out about the amazing prizes up for grabs.

I layered up lots of stickers and chipboard from the Crate Paper Maggie Holmes 'Carousel' collection. In order to create more texture behind the photo I added some of the tulle given to me by Lisa on the Design Team although I had a nightmare trying to stick it down so any tips welcome.

I used Distress Oxides in Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers to create the mixed media background and splattered it with some water.

I can't wait to see all the entries to this month's challenge, don't forget to share your layout on the challenge Facebook thread.

~ Sheena's Class no.2 | Birds of a Feather Retreat ~

Sheena's class at the retreat focused on using Crate Paper 'Heart Day' collection. We created our own frames using a homemade mould and hot glue gun. The frames are then trimmed and painted.

For this layout we also made our own tassels using crochet twine. Watercolour splatters and packaging technique added colour to the white backgrounds.

Lots of lovely layers using the cut apart sheet and the collection's sticker sheet. I wasn't sure about the rubber heart charms as it's not something I would normally choose to use but they really add a different texture to the page.

~ A long engagement ~

So we got engaged in October 2013 and I can't believe it was so long ago. We still haven't got married or even set a date as neither of us can decide on the type of wedding we want and don't feel in any rush to at the moment. I was shocked when I realised I hadn't scrapped this photo of us as it is one of my favourites from the trip. After he proposed we went ring shopping but he wouldn't give it to me until the right time. This happened to be a cute bistro come wine cellar in Bergamo, Italy.

I really seem to have found my style recently and it involves lots of layers! Whether it be die cuts, patterned papers or stickers I just can't get enough.

This was the last full piece of paper I had from the Maggie Holmes 'confetti' collection I had left and I love it. I've gone mad for layering all the die cuts. My journal, long is hidden on the tag inside the pocket as it's quite a personal page. I absolutely love all the colours in this collection.

Why is it that your mojo hits when you really should be doing something else?! Note to self - do your essay!

Happy crafting!

~ Life has been a little hectic ~

Hello there,

Life has been a little hectic in the first part of this year following a house move and a couple of holidays.

I still have my craft room (which is now even bigger!) and I haven't stopped doing what I love. I just haven't had chance to post about it until now.

I have created a couple of wall art pieces for my new home which I thought I would share with you today.

This was made using the lovely Maggie Holmes Confetti collection and a couple of photos from our recent India trip.

I saw something similar to this on Pinterest so decided to have s go at making my own. I used a Stampin' Up embosslits die for the different butterflies.

Now this one I made for the old house using an engagement card we received from my cousin. I love how personal it has become.

Hope to be back again with more to share over the next few days.
