~ National Scrapbooking Day | Pocket Pages ~

Whilst I had a scrappy marathon for National Scrapbooking Day I completed a couple of pocket pages for my Sri Lanka album.

I find pocket pages take me ages to do as I think I see each card as a mini layout and spend ages trying to decide what to put on the photos/cards. I really need to get quicker at them as I love the effect but get put off from doing them. These pages were made with a selection of older collections from my stash.

It's a great way to put multiple photos from my travels in my album when I want to document them but they don't each warrant their own 12x12 page. Do you create pocket pages? If so is it a quick process for you?

National Scrapbooking Day | Take 3

Wow, Monday has come round quickly again. I'm starting to manage to get out and about a little more now so it may reduce my scrapping time but who knows maybe I will simply be more productive. I'm here with more layouts created for National Scrapbooking Day challenges.

For this page I was challenged to use something that I have been hoarding and reluctant to use. For me it was this Basic Grey 'Herbs and Honey' Collection. When we travel I love to go and look round the local food markets so it was perfect for these photos from the Sri Lankan Fruit & Veg Wholesale market.

This layout was created for a recipe challenge over on the Hip Kit Club Online NSD crop. I'm really pleased with how this turned out and I have finally used up all my 1canoe2 'Hazelwood' collection.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my posts. I'm aiming to blog twice a week but that will depend on my health and recovery.

National Scrapbooking Day | Take 2

I've had such a crazy few months and it's hard to make yourself slow down when you are used to being busy. Not being able to drive or do any housework post op has meant that I've been able to spend time in my craft room between naps and TV programmes. The National Scrapbooking Day challenges gave me plenty of inspiration.

I'm totally in love with this Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Wild at Heart' collection. It isn't quite as pastel as previous collection and the mix of watercolour ephemera and bold patterns is great. To create this layout I used a Hip Kit Club sketch, a Moodboard from the Hey Little Magpie challenges and a title that came from the 'Film or Song' challenge over on For the love of pretty paper Facebook group.

This layout was for the big title challenge for NSD. I wanted to document my love of Thai food. I wasn't sure about this page but the more I see it the more it is growing on me.

This started life quite a few weeks ago when we were away in North Yorkshire. I sat one evening and fussy cut out the flowers from the Shimelle 'Little by Little' paper. This was quite a simple layout to create once I'd cut out the flowers.

I love this photo of the ladies at the last 'Like For Ever' retreat. I still feel sad that the kit club had to close but excited to be getting together with some of these lovely ladies for a getaway next year.

~ National Scrapbooking Day (weekend!) ~

Happy Monday, hope its not too much of a drag although the weather here in the UK isn't great at the moment. Very cloudy and rain showers.

It was absolutely fantastic to see so much inspiration on social media for National Scrapbooking Day (NSD). So much so that many online groups had challenges across the whole weekend. I chose 3 groups to play along with and I am so grateful for the time and effort they put in to organising them. I chose to do challenges from the 'For the love of pretty paper', 'Hey Little Magpie' and the 'Hip Kit Club' groups on Facebook. UK Scrap Addicts also participated and held a few challenges online.

This layout using the free cut file available on the UK Scrap Addicts blog started life many many weeks ago when I decided to stick the Mandala cut file designed by Polly's Papercraft. I did not anticipate how long it would take to do and eventually finished it just in time to use for NSD.

I still need to add a little journaling to this page as it documents the spa I went to whilst we were in Sri Lanka. I used a mix of Maggie Holmes and Paige Evans collections for this page.

This layout was for the 'circles' challenge over on Hey Little Magpie. I painted and ink splattered a circle just slightly bigger than the cut file. This was one of those layouts that I really wasn't sure about until it was finished. I used a mix of Maggie Holmes collections and the title is from Heidi Swapp.

I've had these Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Endless Summer' papers for quite a while and loved them so much that I didn't want to use them. However we used them at the March GoGo Getaway and I vowed then that I would start to use them. I love the pastel colour palate.

I used Jackie's Sketch challenge as my inspiration for this layout and it makes a change to have a 'normal' holiday photo to use as its not often our holidays include swimming pools and beaches.

I'll be back later in the week to show you some more layouts I managed to get done for NSD.

~UK Scrap Addicts | Scrapbook Whispers ~

I've not been around for a little while as I had some surgery just over 3 weeks ago so have been resting and starting to recover. I wasn't organised enough to get some post scheduled in advance but I did manage a little scrapbooking last weekend.

The UK Scrap Addicts had a go at participating in a Scrapbook Whispers layout swap for National Scrapbook Day. It was so much fun and was amazing to see the evolution of the layout as each person scrap lifted it adding their own style.

Head over to the UK Scrap Addicts blog to see how the layout started and finished. I was mid way through the process and would love to take part in these again.

None of the six photos I took of the Leopard were worthy of being a focal point as the cat was hidden in the tress and we had very little time to get a good shot so most of them are out of focus. I combatted this issue by putting all the photos together on one page.

~ GoGo Getaway | Be Inspired ... ~

I'm a little late posting this as my GoGo Getaway blog post went live on the 28th April but I have been recovering from surgery and didn't realise I hadn't scheduled this post.

This month the design team are taking a look back at the Be Inspired ... challenges from the March GoGo Getaway. Head over to the blog to see how each of the Design Team member interpreted the challenges.

This was my layout for the elements challenge that I set for the retreat.

~ April GoGo Getaway Challenge | Going Going Gone ~

I've joined in with Nancy's colour theme challenge over on the GoGo Getaway Facebook group and blog. I totally fell in love with this beautiful graduated coloured paper. It looks great behind the white cloud cut file.

I fussy cut cloud shapes from the Shimelle 'Little by Little' patterned paper and added them flat and also on 3D foam to create height to the layout. I tried to group embellishments of similar colours together at the same area as that specific colour on the graduated back ground.

The sunset in Galle, Sri Lanka was beautiful and we joked around using a polo mint to take photos through.

Would be great to see you join this months challenge, head to the Facebook group to see the full details.
