Baby Tresure Chest

Here is the completed baby 'treasure chest'. I made the boxes and decorated them and my mum made the book. We were really pleased with the results. The recipient was born at 07.30 today, both mum and baby are doing well.
The boxes were bought from Hobbycraft, then covered in a PVA/water mix and then painted white and blue. Not sure what the papers we used were as they were all from our growing piles of patterned paper. I used weathered wood distress ink to add to the papers.

I am really pleased with how this turned out. I got inspiration for this from a box I saw at a garden centre which had 3 boxes for first tooth, first curl, hospital bracelet. It was very expensive so we decided to make our own.

WOYWDW

Well this is my first 'Whats on your work desk wednesday' post. Here is my main work space, it was originally a computer desk but now home to my crafty stash (well some of it!!!) I also have 2 sets of plastic drawers and a wardrobe full of stash, oops! The project on my desk is now complete and on its way to its new home.

A Gem of a Challenge

This is my entry for Pink Gem Designs February Challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge.

Unfortuately I can't for the life of me remember what the papers are, but am really proud of myself as I managed to use up a couple of scrap pieces. The stamp is by Pink Gem Design and is called 'Spring Millie'. I have recently purchased a few stamps from them and absolutely love them. I have coloured this design using my new promarkers (Don't think its a bad effort for a first try). Sentiment flower is by craftwork cards. Really enjoyed making this card and I am sure it will be appreciated by its recipient.

A Productive Day

As you can see from the number of posts that I have done today I have been very productive. Below is the beginnings of a Baby keepsake box for a friend whose baby is due soon. I bought the boxes from Hobbycraft, they were those brown cardboard type ones. I covered them in a PVA/water mix and then painted them. The small boxes fit inside the large one, I am also going to put in a small mini book. Keep watching for further details.

Another fab blog candy.

Just found this great blog candy from Bunny Zoe celebrating 2 years of her blog. The stash is amazing. As usual you have got to be in it to win it! Good Luck everyone!

The Birthday Card Reveal

This is the card I made for my boyfriends birthday. I bought us tickets to go and see stomp at the local theatre. It was amazing. To say that the image was just printed from the net and I kept the card very simple I was very pleased with how it turned out. I used my big shot to flatten a bottle top for the first time which was quite scary! Intend to do it again though as I was very pleased with the results.

Pink Gem Blog Candy

The fantastic Pink Gem Designs have another fabulous blog candy up for grabs. It can be found on their blog. Don't forget that they have also recently set up their own monthly challenge blog aswell! I must say that I love their stamps!

Crafty day

This is a photo from Monday this week when my mum, her friend and I had a mini crop at our house. We all made mini books using coffee filters. I am waiting for some photos to use in mine then will post it when its finished. We had a great day, lots of chocolate eaten, cream buns and fun times had!

I am in the process of organising my stamp collection in the way some one suggested on UKS. You stamp te images on an A4 sheet then laminate it. When laminated the stamps cling to the back. Each sheet goes in to a plastic wallet and then a lever arch folder. Seems to work really well and they are so easy to find, much better than routing around in the bottom of a plastic storage box.

Happy Crafting!

Off to the carnival!

Well as I mentioned earlier I had to make a carnival style mask for Saturday nights party at Innovate. Well below is my effort. I must admit I am quite pleased with the result.I bought a white plain mask from then painted it with pink and silver acrylic paint, added flat back star gems and baby pink feathers.
After painting and doing the mask I didn't have much inspiration left for scrapbooking tonight so I decided to have a go at making some flowers from scraps of paper.

I got the instructions from a great blog, they were very easy and step by step. Click on the images to fink the link to the instructions on Helen's blog.

Am hoping to get some LOs done tomorrow, really want to play with Cleo crafts Feb Kit.

Unfortuantely no photo!

Well although I have been a little crafty this afternoon I am unable to post my make on here before a certain person's birthday! Will upload a photo after 9th Feb.

Today I added yet more stash to my ever growing pile! Mum and I went to Elsecar Heritage Centre, Barnsley to 'The Craft Box'. They had lots of WRMK gromlets in the sale so I bought quite a few packs. They are gorgeous. Also managed to get some grunge paper which I look forward to using, am planning to start by having a go at making some flowers. I also picked up some small mosaic tiles and small craftwork cards card spots.

Off to make a Carnival style mask for Centenary Innovate at the weekend. We are raising money for breast cancer so think pink!!!
