WOYWW!

This was how my desk started this morning.

These photos show my new pink gem stamps and memento ink pad that arrived the other day and also my poundland stash. I picked up some gorgeous handmade papers and some self adhesive flat back gems aswell.

However, by the afternoon it looked like this.

I used the last of my Cleo Crafts March Kit, to start making this card, keep a look out for the finished product on my blog soon.

~ Design Dollies Sketch Challenge ~

I actually whipped this LO up quite quickly once I had the sketch and idea in my head. I used some more of the March Cleocrafts kit. There was so much stuff in the kit that I have managed two layouts, a card and a mini book, with only a few extra sheets of cardstock.

So below is the completed layout, its about some highland catte which were in the field next to our campsite and every morning at 6am they started to moo!

NEW CHALLENGES AHEAD!

If you have been looking at my blog for a couple of weeks you may remember I completed an entry to a design team. Well I can announce that I am now officially a member of the Sketches: Creatively Yours Design Team. Please head over there to see the rest of the DT.

A bee in my bonnet!

Here is another card using the Rubbernecker Stamp Company Bee stamps coloured in with Promarkers. The purple cardstock is coredinations and has been distressed at the edges and rubbed with an emery board, not very obvious on the photo.

Bee Crafty!

I really enjoyed making this card. The papers are all 'Bloom and Grow' Collection by My Minds Eye and I must say I love them! The bee stamp is one I got from Ally Pally last September its made by the Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I really hope that they are there this time so I can buy some more of their gorgeous stamps. The image is coloured using Promarkers.

A difficult card......

I must admit that I was really struggling to think of a card to make for a friend of mine who sadly lost her husband to cancer at the weekend. Therefore I copied a previous card but used different papers. I used some of my scraps of Prima 'Flights of Fancy' papers from my Cleocrafts kit. The stamps are Prima and Tim Holtz. I'm really in to making my own flowers at the moment.

March's Recipe Card - Quiche

These are my 'Cheese and Leek Quiche' Recipe cards for the monthly recipe card swap over on UKScrappers. I have been joining in for quite a while now so am getting quite a collection of recipes.
I used my new My Mind's Eye 'Bloom and Grow' stamps to stamp the green leaf border, I really like these stamps. Can't wait to get chance to use them. Also bought a 6x6 pack of 'Bloom and Grow' papers.

Good enough to eat!

These stamps I bought from Ally Pally in September from The Rubbernecker Stamp Company. I absolutely love these stamps and can't wait to buy some more from them in April. I coloured them using Promarkers and then added some Waterfall Stickles to the bun case to add some bling. The paper is one from Kaisercraft, not sure of the name.

Again this card has been made witht he cupcake stamps coloured with promarkers and Holly stickles added to the bun case. This time the patterned paper is from Craftwork Cards and the cream coloured matte is the reverse of the Kaisercraft cupcake paper used on the previous card. I tried to make it card reasonably flat so it didn't cause any problems when posted to a friend.

What a Hoot!

Well as I am 'Little Owl' to a Pack of 30 Brownies this free stamp from Craft Stamper shouted out to me to be used on cards for the other leaders. I was really pleased with the way these two cards turned out. I managed to use up some scrap paper. I coloured the owls with my new Promarkers, flowers from my stash, sentiment from Craftwork cards.

I look forward to making more cards with the lovely little owl stamp.

The Birthday Blog Bash!

Well Friday night was the begining of Rebekah's Birthday Blog Hop and although I was only able to spend a little amount of time crafting I have been trying to follow it throughout the weekend.

My first attempt was at Lis's Chipboard Heart embellishment.
I actually made quite a few of these as I was really pleased with the way they turned out. The metal additions were actually a magpie steal from an old accessorize bag I had, really glad I saved them now.
I decided to try and make a star shaped one as I thought this may be useful for a male layout or card.
I love this technique as its a great way of using some of the left over scraps of patterned paper.

Next I decided to have a go at Amarylis's Rose tutorial. I have admired these roses on many peoples layouts including the christmas tags by Tim Holtz, however I have never got round to trying to make them.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out and I can't wait to try it with grunge paper and distress inks. So watch this space...

Finally, I had enough time left to have a go at making Ifa's gorgeous mini book. I had to change the dimensions as I didn't have any 12x12 acetate so just made an A5 book using an A4 sheet of acetate.
I used my Cleo crafts monthly kit which this month included lots of lovely Prima 'Flights of Fancy' Papers and embellishments.
Not sure what I'm going to put in it get, maybe need a trip to the local Butterfly house once I am out of hospital next week.

Thanks for looking at my attempts, I can't wait to get back home to start having a go at some of the other tutorials and challenges. I must say a huge thanks to Rebekah for organising such a wonderful event!
Happy Birthday Rebekah!

A Day for Mothers

Well yesterday was Mother's Day and although I had to work in the afternoon I managed to spend a little time with her in the morning. Here is a picture of the card I made for her this year. I absolutely love this stamp (Spring Milly) from Pink Gem Designs. I used the sketch from their 2nd Monthly Challenge over on 'A Gem of a Challenge'.

A flurry of cards!

Well I had a flourish of inspiration the other afternoon whilst looking through Tim Holtz's new book. I have got quite a few of his products and usually make clean cut kind of cards so decided to go for abit distressed effect.
The above card is made with Basic Grey Porcelain Patterned paper, grunge board tag covered in fired brick distress ink and stamped with a Tim Holtz 'Flights of Fancy' Stamp. I stamped the flowers on to acetate with Stazon Ink and then cut out. The butterflies were stamped with antique linen distress ink and stardust stickles added. 'Birthday Wishes' stamp from Hero arts.

This is another card made with Basic Grey paper. Prima script stamp in gold as background. Flights of fancy stamped in Tattered rose distress ink. Butterflies stamped in charcoal covered in distress stickles. Paper flower made with basic grey papers inked with distress ink. I used this card as part of a challenge from My Sketch World.

I was really pleased with this card it is only the second time I have used my new promarkers. The patterned paper is Cherry Arte, not sure of the collection. I used coredinations as the background and then used a nail file to distress the scalloped edge. This stamp was a freebie on Creativity Magazine. This is the a card from the sketch challenge on My Sketch World.

Happy Crafting!

CJ Spoiler!

These are a couple of LOs done for Cleo Crafts CJs. The first one is about your favourite place to be. I found this quite challenging but decided on 'anywhere with guiding!' I have been part of girlguiding UK since I was 7 years old (as a brownie) and now I am a brownie leader and a senior section leader. I have had so many wonderful experience through guiding and have made some great friends! If its a guiding event then it will always be the best place to be.
This CJ was another hard one as it came with someones own photos. I chose 2 photos of a sunset which appealed to me as I do love a nice sunset! I left some room so she can add some journalling as I expect there are certain memories or feelings surrounding these photos.

Anyway that's it for me today I'm off to brownies to climb a church tower and play jenga! Happy Scrapping!

Sir Tim's Apprentice! Well???

This is my first attempt at distressing as per Sir Tim's new book 'Compendium of Curiosities'. I am pleased with the results.I used distress inks fired brick and brushed corduroy. The image is one of Tim's from his flights of fancy stamps.
I used distress inks to cover the grunge board and then stamped on it with archival ink using another 'fights of fancy' stamp. This would have looked better if the grunge had not been textured, but as it was a first try I am quite pleased.

PROBLEM!!! How does Sir Tim get the ink off his fingers?! Not sure the patients at work will appreciate my discoloured fingers. Oops! Any suggestions please!
