~ Recipe Cards ~

Over on UKScrappers I am part of a monthly recipe swap, however, life got in the way this month so I'm a little behind. Therefore, I have 2 months worth  of cards ready now. Am really pleased with how they turned out. They are simple but quite classy looking.

~ A vintage layout ~

Heres my interpretation of this weeks sketch over on Sketches: Creatively Yours. The rest of the DT do a fantastic job with lots of different styles, please hop across to see them all.

This page was done using May's Cleocrafts kit which was made up of Fancy Pant's Roadshow papers which are yummy! I bought the ribbon and blossom kit aswell this month so I had extra to play with.

Hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday weekend, I'm on nights so may not be around until Monday.

~ WOYWW ~

Well as you can see not alot is happening on my desk apart from it being covered in stash and my chair piled high with pizza boxes. My mojo seems to be a little lacking recently even though I have so many things to do.

I bought a Bind-it-all machine from a fellow scrapper on UKS and I still haven't got round to playing with it. Well I'm back at work now after having 9 weeks off sick so hopefully when I get my busy life back my brain will kick in to gear like before.

Happy 18th Birthday Laura!

Today I would like to wish Laura, my Young Leader, Ranger and friend, a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Its her 18th Birthday and I have made the above card for her.
I used Bo Bunny papers, my scallop punch, wreath stamps and an glittered 18 and butterfly from Hobbycraft. I hope she like it and has a great day!

~ I feel its a little early, but... ~

Well I have been struggling with my mojo since the Cybercrop but have been doing lots of blog hopping and surfing over on UKScrappers. So at a loss as to what to do this morning (not motivation what so ever!) I decided o have a go at a christmas card idea that had been floating around for a while.

I got the inspiration for these from someone over on uks (sorry can't remember who!). I have used Tim Holtz stamps and distress inks in peeled paint, fired brick, faded jeans and dusty concord. I stamped the image on white card and then matted it on gold/silver card. For the backgrounds I applied ink using a blender tool then stamped snowflake images using the same distress ink and also gold/silver. To finish off I added gold/silver ink around the edges of the cards.

I must say I am really pleased with how these have turned out (I made one of each design in each of the 4 colours). So thats 8 christmas cards made and its only the begining of May. Hopefully this year I won't be left making them on Christmas Eve.

~ UKS Monopoly Cybercrop Classes ~

Below are my interpretations for some of the classes from last weekends Monopoly Cybercrop over on UKScrappers:
~ Bow Street ~
The technique for this class was to create a title using various font alpha stickers then painted over the top and removed. I really wasn't sure about this effect but really like the way it turned out. The photo is of my boyfriend dressed ready to go out for my father's 60th birthday.

~ Angel Islington ~
I absolutely loved doing this class, great fun hand cutting the frames. This photo is from my trip to India where we made some gardens at a home for the elderly. It proves that I really did get stuck in and get my hands dirty.

~ Oxford Street ~
I made my own glimmer mist for this class using perfect pearls and mini misters, could have done with some ink aswell but was very pleased with the outcome.

~ Fleet Street ~
I am really pleased with this layout, I enjoyed making the various different flowers using newspaper print. The photos are from Ranthanbore National Park in India.

~ Mayfair ~
This was meant to be a big 16x16 frame but I downsized it to 8x8. The photo was taken on holiday in Scotland. My boyfriend laughed at me as I kept moving the seaweed to make sure I got the composition I wanted. I love the flowers on this canvas, will definately make these again.

~ Monopoly Cybercrop Challenges ~

~ Vine Street ~
This challenge was to use a vine in some way.  The vine stamp is one from My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow set. The photo is another from my trip to India.

~ Pass Go! ~
This is another tiger photo ( I think I have used them all now! Lol.) I used one of the kits from cleo crafts and added a tag from Making Memories Passport.

~ Special Assignment ~

As I ahve been off sick from work I was offered a 'Special Assignment' from Ali who runs Sketches:Creatively yours. I was to create two contrasting cards using the Sketch by Noella which appeared on the post when she was announced as Guest Sketch Artist for April.

The above card was made using Rubbernecker Stamp Company stamps. The background was stamped and then embossed with clear embossing powder. Coloured using Spiced Marmalade and Brushed Corduroy Distress inks. The leaves were stamped with Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint Distress Inks and the cut out and covered with Distress Stickles. The tag was stamped with the same Distress inks and a black swirl added to each end.

This card was made using Cleo crafts monthly kit which contained gorgeous American Crafts Letterbox Collection papers. I stamped a Pink Gem Designs girl coloured with promarkers. A simple yet effective birthday card.
