~ Fabulous Festive Boxes ~

A fantastic Christmas inspired Stampin' Up class run by Monica Gale.

We created gorgeous boxes which have a decorated ikea tea light holder which we coloured using a combination of re-inker, crystal effects and fine glitter. I love going to Monica's class she always inspires me. I really must get some more crafting done in 2014 as I have hardly done anything this year.

Happy New Year!

~ Family Framed ~

Today Mum and I have spent the afternoon crafting together. An occasional treat we try to organise once in a while.

We both loved some of the classes from Monica Gale's Retreat that she showcased on her blog so we tried to recreate one of them putting our own spin on it. I bought the frames from The Range for only £2.99 which I thought was a bargain! We both used up papers and embellishments from our stash.

I'm really pleased with the result of my afternoon. This is going to take pride of place on the shelf in my craft room. I can't believe how different they both look even though we have essentially created the same thing.

I've gone for a vintage nature kind of look with butterfly and bird embellishments and patterned papers.

Thanks to Monica Gale for her ongoing inspiration.

Happy Crafting!

~ Happy Birthday Mum! ~

It was my mums birthday last week so I made her a card. We went out for a lovely evening meal at 450 above in Rotherham.

I loved this card so much that I've made another for a friends birthday.

~ Sketch challenge - using class leftovers ~

This was a sketch challenge where you had to use up your left over stash from the classes. To be honest this year there wasn't much to play with, but I'm really pleased with my layout.

The photos document me crossing the road in Hanoi. This was a trick in itself with all the traffic, you don't wait for a gap you just set off walking. You walk at a steady pace and the traffic moves round you. Very scary until you get the hang of it.

~ A little more Vietnam ~

I've had a busy few weeks since the GogoGetaway. Not a huge amount of crafting time but I'm sharing some more layouts from the weekend.

This class at GogoGetaway was on the Saturday night which meant we were all abit tired.

The technique in this class was to create your own stamps. We used string round a block of foam then cut the foam to create the chevrons.

~ Sketch challenge - Prima Divine Collection ~

This is a layout using Prima's Divine Collection papers, the papers are quite feminine and vintage but I used the B side to allow me to use the photos I wanted to.

The photos are from our trip to Budapest in February. They show the array of foods available in the market in central Budapest . The architecture of the building is amazing.

~ Natures trappings ~

This class was taught by Sam Ball. We had to weave thread attached to brads and add buttons (real and paper).

The photos are old ones from a visit to Yorkshire Sculpture Park near Huddersfield. I love going here and seeing the different exhibitions.

~ Sketch challenge - Prima Lifetime Collection ~

I absolutely love this layout. It shows the little birds kept by Vietnamese as pets. They have the cages hanging from string across the pavement.

I would never have made a page like this normally but think its one of my favourite.

~ Sketch challenge - American Crafts Lucky Charm

This is another sketch challenge from the weekend.

I've really enjoyed the challenge of having the sketch to use, helped with inspiration too. We had to use at least one element of American Crafts Lucky Charm collection.

This layout shows ladies working in the fields between Hanoi and Ha Long Bay in Vietnam.

~ Papillon Punk ~

Wow! I think this is my favourite class of the weekend. The class was by Sheena Rowlands.

We used watch and clock parts on a paper covered chipboard butterfly to create a feminine steam punk inspired layout. It was really fiddly and we ended up covered in glue.

I love the results.

~ French Fancy~

Class two was a gorgeous layout designed my Sam Ball. So cute!

I used a black and white photo of myself and my friend Sam outside the House of Lords when we went for our Queen's Guide Award presenting.

~ Gogo sketch challenge - Swagger ~

Over the weekend we have got plenty of layout challenges to be doing between class and each one is linked to a paper range.

The first one I have done is for the Swagger range from Fancy Pants. I wasn't sure about this range so I've only used a few stickers on my layout and managed to use up a load of scrap pieces of paper.

I have scrapped any photos of my man and now my first 2 at getaway are of him. Maybe I'm missing him as he is away in the Galápagos Islands.

~ Meshy Moments ~

Well we thankfully made it to Gogogetaway even with the awful wintery weather we have been having. I was so excited, couldn't wait to get started.

This was the first class of seven over the weekend. The class looks fab and it's the first time I have scrapped a photo of my man.

I'm going to sit and think about what I would like to journal on the layout when I get home.

~ Challenge two~

Here is the full version of Gogogetaway's 2nd layout challenge.

It was to create a layout about someone, something which you would score a perfect 10.

I chose to create a layout to document the fantastic afternoon tea at Arrow Farm near Worksop. It's fantastic value for money and the home made cakes are scrummy! My friend Tammy and I spent hours sat chatting, drinking tea and eating cake.

~ Challenge one ~

Earlier in the week I showed a sneak peek of my first challenge layout, as its the weekend I thought I would show you it in full!

I have scrapped a photo of my feet with henna on them from our holiday in India in 2009. I used nail polish on the background.

~ Perfect 10 ~

The final challenge was posted on the Scrapagogo clubhouse ready in preparation for next weekend (thank you to Janice for posting it a day early so I could complete it). As the theme is 10 for the getaway we had to think about something that was perfect to us (and if pretending to be a judge on strictly we would give it a 10). We also could only use 10 items!

I used a photo I took on my iPhone and altered on Instagram of the afternoon tea I had at a local farm shop with my friend. I absolutely love the quirky little tea cosy!

I used 3 pieces of patterned paper, 2 paper clips, 1 photo, 1 tag, 1 alphabet, 1 badge and 1 hybrid printed item.

Here's a sneak peek before the weekend:

~ Gogo name badge ~

Good evening, thought I might post while watching comic relief. My hat goes off to Jessie J for shaving her hair off!

Anyway back to my crafty antics! A usual challenge before the retreat is to make a name badge. This year as its the 10th getaway the theme was to use metal on your badge.

Here is a sneak peek of my attempt:

~ Getting go go organised ~

Starting to get organised for mum and I's annual trip to GogoGetaway. Can't wait!

The first challenge was to create a layout using either your 10 fingers or toes to celebrate their 10th getaway. Mum had a photo of my feet from when we had henna done in India. For an extra chance of a prize we had to use nail polish on our layout.

Here's a sneak peek for you before we get to the weekend:

~ A little late! ~

Well as I didn't see my fella until Friday night so I delayed posting his valentines day card just in case he peeked at my blog.

I made it with some stampin' up stamps and a random heart stamp I had (note to self : buy a valentines sentiment stamp)

Happy crafting!

~ Love is in the air ~

On Sunday, I had a fab time at Monica Gale's Stampin' Up class. It was great to see her as I hadn't managed to get since before I went to Vietnam.

As per usual she had an array of fabulous projects for us to do, 2 cards and a gift holder. She used some of the new stamps from this years catalogue. Some of which I desperately need!

We created a lovely pink elephant card which I have already ear marked for a friends birthday. This was such a cute and easy card to make. Next we made the bunting card using a technique which creates a chalkboard style background. Finally we made a Valentine's gift holder which was so cute and quite simple to make.

Happy Crafting!

~ Creative flow~

On returning from a trip to Budapest I couldn't sleep so got up around midnight and went in to my craft room. I made this card using last years Stampin' Up products.

The card is for a colleague who has recently had an operation and is recovering. I posted it to her the other day do it should arrive soon.

~ 427 steps ... ~

This is another photo from Halong Bay. This photo shows me about to walk up the 427 steep, uneven steps to the viewing point at the top of the island.

There is some hidden journaling behind the photo which documents the medical emergency I was involved in at the top.

Yet again I've used a Scrapagogo kit. I absolutely love these papers from Amy Tangerine. I just added a little washi tape and abit of ink from my stash.

I normally have my layouts with straight lines but tried something new with this one. I have also tried to embrace the sketch style of the papers by adding my own borders in pen.

~ Halong Bay ~

Something a little different for me. I've seen shimelle do this kind of layout a few times so thought I would give it a go. I thought it would be a quicker layout but it actually took me longer.

Again another Scrapagogo kit used. I absolutely loved this kit, think it was March 2012. Lots of layouts have already been made with this kit.

The photos show how people live on Halong Bay.

~ Mother and daughter ~

Well yet again I have managed abit of scrapping. Mum and I had a day together on Wednesday, I always seem to get more done when we are together.

I love this photo of us both whilst away in Vietnam. Again I am trying to use up my Scrapagogo kits. I used this month's blueprint to go as a sketch idea for this layout.

~ Tailor made ~

This is another layout from Vietnam, this time documenting the purchase of a tailor made dress.

In Hoi An they have streets full of tailors, however Yaly is an internationally acclaimed shop and we were encouraged to look there due to the quality of their work . I had a long dress made and it cost $75 which didn't seem bad.

I have used another Scrapagogo kit for this page. I absolutely loved this kit, it had all cute little sewing related embellishments and the beautiful lost and found paper. Hopefully I'll get some time this week to do a bit of crafting.

~ I want to ride my bicycle, bicycle, bicycle ... ~

Good afternoon, I've been on nights and really don't want to get out of bed.

Whilst in Vietnam we chose to do an optional bicycle tour of a local village. You cycle round and stop off at various people's homes to see the traditional crafts they do. I hadn't been on a bike for over 10 years, so that and the fact that it was raining made it interesting.

I have used yet another Scrapagogo kit for this layout.

~ Long time no blog! ~

It's been a long while since I posted anything remotely crafty so with my new iPhone at the ready I'm aiming to get back on track.

With a new fella to keep me busy I haven't had much crafting time but plenty of photo opportunities.

So while the weather has been awful I have managed to get a few layouts done which I will share with you over the next week.

This is the first layout of my trip to Vietnam last year. I'm trying to use up some of my ScrapaGoGo kits which seem to be taking over my craft room.

This photo was taken after a very long flight from the uk. We went to a local restaurant with our guide and had a traditional Vietnamese breakfast - chicken noodle soup.
