Baby Tresure Chest

Here is the completed baby 'treasure chest'. I made the boxes and decorated them and my mum made the book. We were really pleased with the results. The recipient was born at 07.30 today, both mum and baby are doing well.
The boxes were bought from Hobbycraft, then covered in a PVA/water mix and then painted white and blue. Not sure what the papers we used were as they were all from our growing piles of patterned paper. I used weathered wood distress ink to add to the papers.

I am really pleased with how this turned out. I got inspiration for this from a box I saw at a garden centre which had 3 boxes for first tooth, first curl, hospital bracelet. It was very expensive so we decided to make our own.

Oh, I've seen the boxes you're talking about... and (IMHO) your efforts are much much better - so personal and beautiful too. Many congratulations to the new mum and baby (and family) ... and congrats to you too for your amazing treasure box :)
